Spring Capsule

There are those essential pieces that, in my opinion, every woman needs— the white shirt, Breton, classic blue jeans and trusty trench coat. I’ve picked my favourites from the new Marks and Spencer SS18 collection, creating an edit of pieces you can rely on throughout the season and beyond. A capsule wardrobe in essence— something I’m a firm believer in. I find it’s a stress relieving way of dressing, especially when you’re strapped for time. I’ve styled a couple of outfits from my edit to demonstrate how a foundation of complimentary pieces gives you the freedom to create a number of outfits from just a few key items.

My first outfit is that ever faithful combo of jeans and Breton top. These jeans are so good! High waist, straight leg and lovely mid blue wash— just how I like them. And because of the high waist I feel comfortable to tuck in the Breton, however it would look great left untucked as the side split is such a nice detail.

The second outfit I’ve pulled together is the collarless white shirt styled over the A-line midi skirt. Paired with these great buckled sandals and tote bag. I love the shape of this outfit combination but it may not work for everyone. The shirt works just as well tucked in and that way shows the great paper bag waist which I love!
