Style to Last

In today’s rapidly changing trends and affordable fast fashion, it can be all too easy to accumulate pieces that you like, but you don’t love. That’s why I’m so pleased to be taking part in the Etsy #Styletolast campaign that celebrates quality over quantity.

Etsy have a wide range of brands run by makers that not only design and make beautiful bags that last from season to season, but who are happy to take a collaborative approach to delivering pieces that you’ll cherish for years to come.

Grace Gordon is the designer behind my gorgeous tote and iPad case (which also doubles up as a chic clutch). Each item produced, is made from full grain vegetable tanned leathers and hand finished in their workshop in Somerset. I was able to speak to Grace throughout the process, discussing ideas of how we could create something unique whilst also meeting my practical requirements.

When my pieces were ready, Grace and I arranged to meet up so that she could talk me through how to care for the bags as they aged. I learnt a lot about leather from her as we chatted over coffee, and it was great to see her own Abbie Tote beautifully aged and full of character.

The Abbie Large Tote and Nelle Leather Clutch are both available from Etsy.

Etsy are offering the chance to win a bag up to the value of £500. Just head over to Instagram and follow @EtsyUK, like their post and comment with what your bag style is. (Make sure you read the T&C’s — Closing date is 1st October.
