The colour purple

I’m not quite ready to say farewell to summer but it’s not stopping me from dreaming of the new additions to my autumn wardrobe. Of course COS will feature on the wishlist— no surprises there.

Pieces from the new collection grabbed my attention way back in March when I visited the AW16 press day. A beautiful palette inspired by the intense colours found in the backdrop of Lynette Yiadom Boakye’s paintings— rich, dark navy, intense blue, ochre, burgundy and forest green.

But it’s the violet raw-edge wool coat and trousers that have really captured my heart. Purple has been my favourite colour since childhood but never to wear, until now. I’m not even sure it will suit me but I can honestly say I don’t care.
