Ever Dependable

I think trench coats have become like security blankets for me. I won’t say how many I have, but I will say that they are all necessary and play their own special part in the life of my wardrobe. This Marks and Spencer one is the newest addition and I love it. The large pocket detail, the length and structure, and the camel shade, all attribute to this fine example of a trench. Not to mention the fact that it has a detachable hood and Stormwear™so it’s great for guarding against rain showers and makes it the ideal cover up to take you into the colder months.

And is there any outfit that doesn’t work with a this classic? I think not. However, I’d say that they work best over paired back, uncomplicated clothing. And what could get more simple than a white t-shirt and jeans? I’m actually channeling Scandi style hero Elin Kling here — she works basics like no other. In fact I’d probably have passed by these kitten heel slingbacks had I not have checked in on some old style inspiration and been reminded of how great they look with a cropped jean. I’ll be switching the t-shirt for a black poloneck sweater as the temperature drops, just like you know who 😉
